Join Team Griffin Dyeworks GWW Spinners and be part of the action October 2 – 8, 2017

Griffin Dyeworks has signed on as a team host for The National Needlearts Associations’s upcoming Spinzilla 2017 event, taking place October 2 – 8, 2017 locally and around the globe. Leading up to Spinzilla 2017, Griffin Dyeworks is seeking team members to join their team and compete against other teams in this friendly competition to see which team can spin the most yarn in a week. In 2016, 5,507,622 yards of yarn was spun.

Spinzilla supports the TNNA Foundation. All registration fees are donated directly to the TNNA Foundation for the organization to purchase supplies for local communities to teach the craft to the next generation of needlearts enthusiasts.

No prior spinning experience is required to participate and leading up to Spinzilla, Griffin Dyeworks will be hosting a few events to meet fellow team members and learn quick tips on hand spinning. Upcoming events will be scheduled soon!

During the SCA event Great Western War, Team Griffin Dyeworks GWW Spinners will be hosting a tent in the A&S area where anyone is welcome to come and learn to spin on a spindle or wheel, or bring their own tools and spend some dedicated time spinning in good company.

Contact Griffin Dyeworks at info@griffindyeworks.com to join its Spinzilla team. Sign ups are open Sept 1-30!

Spinzilla is a world-wide spinning event where competing teams and individuals challenge each other to see who can spin the most yarn in a week! Although the competition lasts only a week, many teams and individuals are already training, preparing their fiber and monstering up their spinning skills.
