Description
UNSLAKED LIME (Calcium Oxide): Coarse off-white powder, alkali dye modifier also called quicklime, in use by at least 50 AD in the Mediterranean. Isolated as a chemical in 1808. Aids cotton mordant, attracts moisture, helps reduce indigo-zinc-lime vat. Best on cellulose fibers.
