Description
TANNIC ACID / TANNIN (Gallotannic acid): Fine tan powder mordant used by Mediterranean dyers circa 2000 BC. Helps cotton and linen absorb nature dyes; darkens with age.
Also a dye: tan to gray on cotton, linen, other cellulose fiber. Other tannin sources: cutch, galls, myrobalan, pomegranate rinds, sumac, tara, tea.
